POSITION DESCRIPTION: This registrar works under the supervision of the building administrator and is responsible for general office functions and services including: making copies, sending faxes, handling incoming and outgoing mail, answering phones, filing and fulfilling information requests. Additional tasks include but are not limited to the following:
- Registration processes, new to district and returning
- Processing of new and exiting students throughout the year
- Transcripting of prior school transcripts into eschool program
- Update student records in eschool program
- Facilitate teacher entry of grades for mid-term and end of term
- Print and distribute grade reports, mid-term and end of term
- Processing and fulfilling transcript requests
- Coordination of graduation activities
- End of year roll-over and reports
This position requires the registrar to work with many different staff members, students, and the public; to use independent judgment, strong organizational, time management and decision making skills, as well as demonstrate professionalism and positivity.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Must be willing to be fingerprinted for a criminal history records check;
- Ability to maintain student confidentiality;
- Maintain student records and prepare state reports as per site requirements;
- Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills;
- Provide patrons, parents, and students information regarding school matters by telephone, e-mail, or through personal contact at the site;
- Ability to work positively and cooperatively with teachers, parents, and school administrators;
- Ability to communicate and maintain effective working rapport with students, staff, and parents;
- Possess excellent computer skills and knowledge of systems abilities (eschool experience helpful);
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and plan for work efficiently;
- Ability to compose letters, memos, and announcements from notes or oral directions;
- Possess or ability to obtain a current first aid card;
- Ability to manage many tasks simultaneously through numerous interruptions;
- Display high moral standards and character in association with students, staff, and the public;
- Register/schedule students and facilitate scheduling and state reporting as directed;
- Ability and willingness to learn and support school and District rules and policies;
- Ability to pass computer aptitude test during interview or possess an AA degree.
