The person in this full-time position is responsible for teaching instruction in the arts (performance art, and/or music) in grades K-4.  The individual is under the direct supervision of the site supervisor.

Qualifications Required

1. Current Oregon Elementary Teaching License;
2. Demonstrated positive classroom management skills;
3. Ability to capably implement District curriculum and state standards;
4. Knowledge and skills in instruction/learning methods and techniques;
5. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively and collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, administrators, students, parents, and patrons;
6. Ability to meet the Junction City School District Standards of Competent Teacher Performance and the Oregon Standards for Professional Educators;
7. Responsibility to know, understand, and adhere to District policy;
8. Possession of, or ability to obtain, a current first aid/CPR card.

Qualifications Desired

1. Endorsement in Music and/or Art;
2. Successful arts teaching experience;
3. Elementary teaching experience;
4. Knowledge and experience in teacher effectiveness, effective school practice, and discipline techniques;
5. Experience utilizing Positive Behavior Support system.
