The person in this position is under the general supervision of the building administrator and is responsible for teaching PE to students in grades 5-12.  This position is temporary for the remainder of the 2024-25 school year.

 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  1. Current Oregon secondary teaching license;
  2. PE endorsement;
  3. Demonstrated positive classroom management skills;
  4. Ability to capably implement District curriculum and state standards;
  5. Knowledge and skills in instruction / learning methods and techniques;
  6. Ability to meet the Junction City School District Standards of Competent Teacher Performance and the Oregon Standards for Professional Educators;
  7. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively and collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, administrators, students, parents, and patrons;
  8. Responsibility to know, understand, and adhere to District policy;
  9. Possession of, or ability to obtain, a current first aid / CPR card.

QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED

  1. Successful PE teaching experience;
  2. Secondary teaching experience;
  3. Demonstrated ability to coach HS level Wrestling;
  4. Experience with Professional Learning Community Model;
  5. Knowledge and experience in teacher effectiveness, effective school practice, and discipline techniques;
  6. Experience utilizing Positive Behavior Support system.
