The person in this position is under the general supervision of the Building Principal and Director of Instruction and is responsible for coordinating and supporting the District’s Talented and Gifted (TAG) Program and for assessing and identifying TAG students. This person will possess and demonstrate knowledge of the needs of talented and gifted learners as well as provide and coordinate the provision of direct services to students in grades K-12. This position may include classroom and /or pull out responsibilities at the Elementary School level. Additionally, this person will serve as a consultant to classroom teachers and parents in the support of TAG identi?ed students. E?ective, positive communication with parents and our community is a requirement. This position is temporary for the 2026-2027 school-year only and the FTE is dependent upon grant funding.

 

Quali?cations Required

  1. Current Oregon Teaching License;
  2. Supports implementation of grants for the TAG Programs;
  3. Recent experiencing teaching gifted and/or high achieving students;
  4. Special knowledge / training regarding needs of TAG, advanced learners, and learners with special education needs;
  5. Experience in implementing instructional strategies for advanced learners;
  6. Experience in parent conferencing, and supportive communication skills;
  7. Ability to use assessment data to inform instruction;
  8. Ability to meet the Junction City School District Standards of Competent Teacher Performance and the Oregon Standards for Professional Educators;
  9. Ability to capably implement District curriculum and state standards;
  10. Ability to communicate e?ectively and work cooperatively and collaboratively with colleagues, support sta?, administrators, students, parents, and patrons;
  11. Responsibility to know, understand, and adhere to District policy;
  12. Attend TAG related trainings.

Quali?cations Desired

  1. Training and experience in TAG test administration;
  2. Experience in managing student records for TAG program;
  3. Experience in conflict resolution;
  4. Possession of, or ability to obtain, a current ?rst aid/CPR card;
  5. Experience facilitating training for others.
